29 March 2017: Banja Luka – How to become a Green City

Most Europeans live in urban areas, where environmental issues such as air quality, waste management or traffic congestion are increasingly becoming challenges to the city’s infrastructure. Some of the key elements to a coherent and green urban framework are green spaces, attracting innovative and green businesses, building a strong public transportation system and using renewable resources. Becoming a green city is a strong commitment which needs to be continuously pursued in the future involving citizens along the way. This conference will provide an analysis of the current traffic situation in European cities and focus on impulses to launch policies and strategies for cities that are at the beginning of the process.
